The UK government is moving to a digital system for immigration.
Instead of physical documents, you'll have a secure online record of your immigration status called an eVisa.
The documents being replaced are:
- Biometric residence permits (BRP)
- Biometric residence cards (BRC)
First step is to create a UKVI account, which will prove your immigration status. You ID will need to be verified by an App.
Shared Code
You can share your immigration status information via a /shared code with:
Employers to confirm your right to Work.
Landlords may want to check before they rent.
At Borders, if you are asked when you travel.
Places of Education - Registration or Proving Student Visa
It will give them access to your immigration status information.
The code is easy to generate if you can't find it.
